Näkymä in soft and cosy thick Mum's eco luxury wool rug.  Highest quality handmade. Stunningly simple, beautiful, minimalistic Scandi style rug designed by Finnish Tomi Leppänen. 

Ethically handmade and always local production only. WEach rug is made by hand, iknot by knot and each rug is signatured by the artisan who made it. Mum's collabs with skilled artisans in Northern India, where the artisans live in a village located in the rural farmside areas of India. By making rugs for Mum's the artisans earnb to pay their kids go to school. They are most prooud to be able to do so, as themselves never had a chance to learn to read or write at school. 

Tomi Leppänen is a Finnish graphic designer behind Typewriter collection. Patterns and inspiration for Typewriter Collection comes from Tomi's obsession with typography. Freshly Nordic, joyful and minimalistic design is a study of the four most basic glyphs. Tomi is obsessed with the smiley symbol and emotions and those became the theme for the Typewriter collection. Now also a unique strong and durable handmade bag, made of recycled cotton and leather. Green pattern on black.

This is not totally new area for Tomi, as he has learned about Bauhaus and Anni Albers's use of this technique at the Bauhaus. Albers made some experiments for her textile patterns with using glyphs only.

VIEW as well other patterns of Typewriter collection are all handmade and ethically produced. All come with an expression of sweetnes, spreading joy in colours, simplicity and joyfuyl long lasting timeless elegance. Spread the smiles.

MUM's

Mum's was born in South Africa in 2006, when Finnish Outi, an artist, and mum herself, collaborated with 15 African women. They made sculptures for an exhibition in Finland, all weaved by hand, designed by Outi, empowering women who worked from home. All women were mothers, so the project was named MUM's.

Later, it became the name for a sustainable brand "Mum's Good with Goods". Over the years a tiny art project has slightly developed into a sustainable design company, combining designers with sustainable production. Mum's has got production in four developing countries India, South Africa, Cambodia, and Bolivia. Everything is handmade as far as possible, people work from home, and save travel costs to operate. Materials are local either natural or recycled, and each Mum's product is signed by the artisan who made it.

The size selections available on the website are examples of the most demanded sizes based on the typical Scandinavian living room sizes.
